Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating a crash that killed a man on the city’s south side. Officers were called to East Raymond Street and Shelby Street around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday and found a male victim with injuries consistent with trauma. The man, who appeared to be riding a bicycle at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. The IMPD fatal crash investigation team is handling the investigation.

Two elderly homeowners are recovering after an overnight fire on Indianapolis' south side. Firefighters responded to a call just before 3:00 a.m. Friday morning at a home on Garfield Drive near Shelby Street. Upon arrival, crews found one resident on the roof of the house and the other in the front yard. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. According to firefighters, the fire originated in the basement of the home.

Indianapolis - Crews are working to clean up steel plates after they fell off a flatbed truck on I-465 southbound near East Washington Street. The crash happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday. Crews are using an excavator and a crane to remove the plates. We're told the right southbound lane is expected to closed through at least 8 a.m. Delays are likely to build throughout the morning commute. Monitor the latest delays on the WRTV traffic page.

INDIANAPOLIS – An early Wednesday morning shooting has claimed the life of a man on Indy’s east side. The gunfire erupted around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday on Heiner Lane just east of Shadeland Avenue. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a call reporting a person shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside a home with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, the man died.

SOUTHPORT– Indiana State Police detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Southport. The incident took place around 12:29 AM near the Berkley Commons Apartment Complex on Appleton Drive. A Southport Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver ran from the scene. During a foot chase, an officer and the suspect exchanged gunfire. The suspect was shot. They were treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.
