Patna: Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital on Monday was granted NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation. A statutory body team under the Union govt had inspected the hospital in Dec last year, following which the accreditation was given. Patna: The city has witnessed about 20-30% surge in the number of cases of conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye, in the last 10 days, which health experts citing changes in weather and the sudden onset of summer as some of the main reasons. City-based ophthalmologist Dr Sunil Kumar Singh said of the total patients coming to him, 25 to 30% were those with pink eye. "This is mainly due to changes in the weather. Three miscreants held in Danapur

Patna: Police late on Friday night arrested three miscreants in an inebriated condition and recovered a country-made pistol, a magazine and 17 live cartridges from their possession. The three identified as Prakash Kumar, alias Omprakash; Tuntun Rai and Bahadur Singh were caught from a car in an area under Shahpur police station at Danapur in Patna district. Danapur ASP Bhanu Pratap Singh said the background of the three is not known, but they are anti-social elements.

Patna: A 21-year-old man, Rahul Raj, shot dead his 20-year-old girlfriend, Arpita, with a country-made pistol and then killed himself near a ghat beside J P Ganga Path, popularly known as Marine Drive, in Patna on Friday.
