Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries in Greenwood, a ministry partner of SCBaptists, received a $1 million gift recently from the family of former long-time staffers Doug and Sally Kauffmann. The Kauffmann family announced the gift Aug. 9 in support of the “Dreams of Children” campaign, a key initiative aimed at enhancing Connie Maxwell’s ability to serve vulnerable children and families across South Carolina.

Connie Maxwell now offers free workshops, trainings, and resources focused on “Christ-centered, trauma-informed” care to churches and community groups.

Iorg received a unanimous vote from 60 EC members at a special-called EC meeting today (March 21). Iorg, 65, will serve as president-elect until his tenure as president of Gateway Seminary officially concludes with graduation on May 11. His first official day as EC president/CEO will be May 13.

Smith Jr. as the 6th president of the Baptist university founded in 1961. Prior to coming to the University of Mobile, Smith served as senior vice president for Institutional Relations and assistant professor of Christian Leadership at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College in Kansas City, Missouri.
