POCATELLO — Police are still searching for two men who robbed a local credit union on Thursday evening. The robbery at the Mountain America Credit Union on the 1000 block of Yellowstone Avenue occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police said. Late Thursday night, officers located the getaway car, a silver Chrysler 200 sedan, that was used during the robbery in Idaho Falls, said police, adding that it was impounded on Friday and searched once officers obtained a warrant.

A 42-year-old local man was recently convicted of two counts of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in connection to a double-fatal crash on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot in March 2023. Andrew D. Blanchard, 42, of St. Anthony, was convicted of the two charges following a jury trial in Bingham County that ended on Friday, according to a news release from the Bingham County Prosecutor’s Office.

Idaho’s 29th Legislative District swung red following Tuesday’s election, with incumbent Republican Dustin Manwaring’s decisive victory over Democratic challenger Mary Shea for House Seat A and Republican Tanya Burgoyne’s upset win over incumbent Democrat Nate Roberts for House Seat B.
