As the cost of living continues to rise, food pantries in Washoe County schools are providing much-needed relief to families. Glenn Duncan Elementary School is one of 41 schools in the district with a food pantry, offering groceries to students and their families every Friday. Ryan Smith, the principal of Glenn Duncan Elementary, said, "Every time we offer our food pantry on Fridays, we do see this positivity. It kind of multiplies throughout the school.

Stable Moments is starting its second season this fall with a lot of promise for this therapeutic program. Twenty local children are learning about horses and how to take care of them at Reno Rescue where upwards of 40 neglected and abused horses call home.
