Jacobs Entertainment is proposing a $128 million expansion of its Reno Neon Line district, including a remodel of the former Bonanza Inn into affordable housing. The Bonanza Inn, a former source of contention, would be transformed into "The Breeze," offering 57 affordable units. Jacobs Entertainment is seeking tax increment financing from the city of Reno to support the project's financial viability.

Folks looking to drink more coffee and do more stuff in Reno will get their chance later this week as Lake Tahoe-based Drink Coffee Do Stuff opens its first location in the city. The specialty coffee company will open its new south Reno location on Friday, April 18. The store is occupying the former Bibo spot at the South Creek Retail Center on Foothill Road off South Virginia Street. Other tenants at the shopping center include Squeeze In and Whispering Vine.

A national outdoor retailer is opening its first store in Lake Tahoe — and also its first ever store in California, according to the company. Sierra, which is part of the TJ Maxx family of brands, is scheduled to open its newest location on April 26 in South Lake Tahoe. The store will be at 1056 Emerald Bay Road at the South Y Center. Other tenants include Raley’s, Chico’s Burger, Taco Bell and Tahoe Gear Exchange. Sierra sells a variety of outdoor products such as apparel, footwear and gear.
