Thousands are without power and flights are delayed or canceled as strong winds hit the Reno area. As of 11:15 a.m. Monday, May 12, NV Energy reported 65 power outages affecting 3,096 customers in Washoe County. In Carson City, the utility is seeing eight outages affecting 443 customers. Statewide, NV Energy is reporting 115 power outages affecting 8,753 customers. Reno-Tahoe International Airport has also confirmed that it is seeing flights affected by the weather.

Need 2 Speed, Reno’s only multilevel indoor electric go-kart track, is opening at Northtowne Marketplace. The new location features a restaurant and bar, duckpin bowling, mini golf, and an arcade. Although smaller than the previous location, the new space offers more amenities and caters to a wider audience, including corporate events and date nights.

The site of the long-delayed Reno Kimpton project is at risk of being auctioned off once again after a notice of sale was filed against the Las Vegas developer that owns the property. Court Street Ventures LLC filed a notice of sale against CAI Investments on Monday after the developer failed to resolve its loan default for the Kimpton project, according to a filing obtained from the Washoe County Recorder’s office.
