HUMBLE, Texas (KTRK) -- In the aftermath of a large industrial fire at a plastics facility, there are now environmental concerns. Fire officials in Humble estimate tens of thousands of tiny plastic beads were released, with many floating into storm sewer drains. "That's what they use to make the plastic bags," Humble Chief Fire Marshal James Nykaza said. The beads, he said, are used to make plastic grocery bags, one of the primary products made at the facility.
Houston police investigation underway after 8-year-old girl may have been accidentally shot to death

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An 8-year-old girl died Friday in what police were told was an accidental shooting in west Houston. It happened at about 1:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Hayes Road near Wickersham Lane. Police said the 911 caller reported the shooting as accidental. The girl was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. It is unclear where the bullet hit the girl, but an officer at the scene confirmed to ABC13 that she died.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect has been charged after a homeless man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a business center in north Harris County last week. Demetrius Lydell Simpson, 35, is charged with murder. According to court documents, authorities found a bomb at his premises after his arrest. The video above is ABC13's 24/7 livestream.
