Fifth-grade math teacher Redawna Warner rolls in a cart stacked high with games, and clusters of kids take their pick from popular classics like Monopoly, Life, Battleship … you name it, along with newer games. Warner kicked off the school’s first board game club in October, and it’s been a big hit ever since.

GREENFIELD — Greenfield-Central School Board voted unanimously Monday to move fourth grade from the intermediate schools to the elementary schools starting next school year. The idea was first mentioned at the March 10 school board meeting. No members of the public spoke out for or against the plan at Monday’s meeting, when the motion passed.

By Shelley Swift | Daily ReporterGREENFIELD — A public input session for a new skatepark will take place April 23 at Riley Park Shelter House in Greenfield. Park leaders are working with Hunger Skateparks — a skatepark designer and builder based in Columbia City — to create a new skateboarding park near the northwest corner of Riley Park, on the site of a current parking lot just north of the Hancock County Boys & Girls Clubs.

This week, Fortville Town Council unanimously approved paying VS Engineering to design the next three phases of the town’s growing trail system. Town Manager Joe Renner said the new trails will match the existing trails — which feature 10-foot-wide paved paths and retro-style black light posts with goose-neck lampshades.
