SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — A Silver Alert was issued Friday for a Spring Hill woman who went missing after leaving her home for a doctor’s appointment. Kathyrn Kocab, 69, was last seen by a family member around 11 a.m. Friday, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Kocab’s family told deputies she had left her home on Abbeville Street in Spring Hill that morning for a doctor’s appointment.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A suspect is on the run following a robbery at a Sarasota bank Friday, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies said the man walked into the USF Credit Union on Clark Road in Sarasota shortly after noon Friday. He then demanded money from the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident. According to the sheriff’s office, the man was seen running northbound toward Bronx Avenue.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Three separate people were struck by lightning Friday while spending time outdoors in New Smyrna Beach, according to city officials. One of the incidents happened around 12:30 p.m. at the beach. Tammy Malphurs, the director of Volusia County Beach Safety, told NBC affiliate WESH that a man in his 20s was ankle-deep in the water when he was suddenly struck by lightning.
