Temps are anywhere from 8-12° above average today with dry conditions lasting overnight. An incoming cold front tonight will increase gusts across the region and help produce a thunderstorm or two closest to the Cascades. Depending on the timing of the front, thunderstorms may not develop until 8 PM if at all. Gusts remain 15-25 MPH through Thursday with some areas feeling gusts as fast as 25-35 and even up to 40 MPH, but mainly in the Kittitas Valley and along the Columbia River.

Partly cloudy tonight with temps dropping to the upper 30s and low 40s with 15-25 MPH gusts Tuesday night. A second weak front arrives Wednesday morning as the upper low off the British Columbia Coasts fills and dissolves into the northwesterly around the expanding ridge to our southwest Thursday morning. Showers will begin after 10 PM Wednesday and last through most of Thursday morning. A gradual warm up is underway through the end of the week with breezy winds remaining Thursday through Tuesday.

A stalled upper low is offshore of British Columbia and is slowly spinning itself out through Wednesday morning. This will whip a cold front through the region with showers and thunderstorms likely in the Blues through Tuesday morning. A second weak front arrives Wednesday morning as the low fills and dissolves into the northwesterly around the expanding ridge to our southwest Thursday morning. Gusts Tuesday will be 20-30 MPH from the west with partly to mostly cloudy skies.

The axis of an upper trough to our northwest will tilt negatively across the Northwest through Saturday. The cold air aloft will help with thunderstorm development from the Lower East Slopes of the Cascades to Western Montana from 10 AM to 10 PM Saturday. Storms won't be very severe and most will be short-lived, isolated with thunder, lightning, heavy localized rain with strong outward gusts up to 40 MPH.
