Gusty winds will be in the 20-30 MPH range from the west through Wednesday with localized areas seeing gusts in the 30-40 MPH range. A tight pressure gradient from an expanding ridge to our southwest and a deepening trough to our northeast will increase winds through Wednesday night. The trough will be weak and lead to slightly cooler temps, increased cloud coverage, and mountain showers Thursday.

Temps Saturday will be in the mid to upper 70s and low 80s while we drop ten degrees from a cold front Sunday into the low 70s and upper 60s. Showers are likely to begin by 6 AM Sunday in Eastern Washington and Oregon and remain isolated and light through Mother's Day.

High pressure will be building into the region through Saturday morning with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to low 80s. A large trough to the northwest is shifting from a positive to negative tilt as it deepens and slides southeast from the Gulf of Alaska through the PNW and down to Northeast Nevada. This will initiate a strong northwesterly flow into the region that will keep temps cool through next week.
