The fire, which was contained to the main building of the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District, resulted in a total loss but caused no injuries to firefighters or civilians, Sunnyside Fire said in a release. In an outpouring of community support, Sunnyside Domino's Pizza donated food to the crews, and an anonymous family provided a case of water at the scene.

Police provided first aid and began their investigation, leading to the identification of a 30-year-old suspect. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

YAKIMA, Wash. – Dozens of cyclists arrived in Yakima as part of the "Journey of Hope," an annual event to raise awareness for people with disabilities. The "Trans-America Team" is one of two teams with the Ability Experience who kicked off the summer-long challenge with a ride of over 100 miles. The team, consisting of 31 Pi Kappa Phi fraternity members, began their journey in Seattle on Wednesday. They cycled through Enumclaw and reached Yakima on Thursday evening.

RICHLAND, Wash. – An arrest has been made in connection with an altercation at Richland’s Claybell Park involving a large fight and gunfire. The Richland Police Department (RPD) said over 20 people were fighting April 10, 2025, with multiple shots fired. No one was hit by gunfire. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. An 18-year-old man was arrested on June 4 in Kennewick on five counts of second-degree assault for his role in the disturbance, RPD said.

KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department (KPD) is investigating a shooting near W 4th Ave. and S Rainier St. this afternoon. When officers arrived, a clerk from City Mart was providing aid to the victim until emergency services arrived, KPD said in a release. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite a thorough search using a police K-9 and drone, KPD said officers were unable to locate the suspect.
