An autistic woman said nature has helped her be "more mindful" after taking part in a wellbeing course. Somerset Wildlife Trust and Diverse UK offer free nature walks and activities at the Bishop's Palace Gardens in Wells for neuro-divergent people. Helen from Chard, who is autistic, took part in the course and said it "really helped". "I was going through quite a stressful time and I was just able to be mindful," Helen said.

A 22-year-old man with hundreds of thousands of social media followers set up his own car event which helped raise money for charity. Matthew Wilson, from Charlton Mackrell in Somerset, ran his first car event in Exeter, attracting more than 1,500 people to see the 400 cars on display. He said he'd been "obsessed" with cars since he was young. Mr Wilson told BBC Radio Somerset: "It was a surreal experience to host my first event."He added: "I've been into cars since I was young.

Researchers who offered intensive language therapy to stroke victims discovered they can regain skills even years later. Hanari, 42, lives in Bristol and had a stroke in 2018. Her husband Takura said he noticed an "immediate improvement" after Hanari took part in the programme. "She was making her voice heard and we learned how to help her," he told BBC Radio Somerset. He added that there had been a "big difference" between Hanari before and after her stroke.

A new workshop has been teaching people how to recycle recipe books and food reviews into poetry. The first found poetry workshop, run by Polly Hall as part of Literally Shepton, took place on Saturday at Shepton Mallet library. Ms Hall said found poetry was a form of poetry that used existing text or "found" words to create new poems. "I have the idea that recipes and food writing lend themselves to quite erotic poetry," Ms Hall said. "Look at Nigella, she's a master at that," she added.
