The reality of losing hit Bo Nickal hard at UFC on ESPN 67, but his coach isn't completely discouraged. Nickal suffered the first loss of his professional career in violent fashion this past Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa where he succumbed to some devastating knees to the body from Reinier de Ridder, en route to a second-round TKO finish.

Reinier de Ridder and Bo Nickal will look to continue their upward paths toward UFC middleweight title contention. Their 185-pound fight scheduled for three rounds will take place Saturday, May 3 at UFC on ESPN 67 from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. De Ridder, 34, a former ONE Championship double champ, is off to a 2-0 start in the UFC after scoring wins over Gerald Meerschaert and most recently Kevin Holland in January. Those results have him ranked No. 13 in the official UFC rankings.
