Joaquin Buckley's impressive run since dropping to welterweight took its first hit at UFC on ESPN 69 courtesy of Kamaru Usman. Buckley (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) saw his six-fight winning streak at 170 pounds come to a halt in Saturday's headliner at State Farm Arena in Atlanta with a unanimous decision defeat to Usman (21-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC). A flaw in his game was exposed in the process, but he never gave up until the bitter end.

Just when Kamaru Usman's career appeared to be on the ropes, he bounced back with a reminder performance at UFC on ESPN 69 against the surging Joaquin Buckley. Usman (21-4 MMA, 16-3 UFC) got his hand raised for the first time since November 2021 with a unanimous decision over Buckley (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) on Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. He snapped a three-fight skid and put himself back in the title conversation in the welterweight division.
