    India, April 19 -- Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, lieutenant governor (LG) VK Saxena and public works department (PWD) minister Parvesh Verma on Friday inspected measures being taken at drains and underpasses across the city to prevent water logging during the monsoon season. The leaders visited the underpasses of Minto Bridge, the Ring Road drain near WHO, and Pul Prahladpur, which have been among the city's biggest water logging hot spots every monsoon.

    New Delhi, April 19 -- In a step towards resolving the water crisis and ensuring timely water supply to residents during the scorching summer season, the Delhi government has decided to deploy 1,000 GPS-enabled water tankers across the city, water minister Parvesh Verma said on Friday. All of these water tankers will be flagged off from the Nirankari Ground in Burari on Sunday. These tankers will be sent to areas facing acute water shortages or where piped supply is not feasible, officials said.

    India, April 18 -- The Delhi government is likely to launch its neighbourhood electric bus service on April 22, under the banner of Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchanges (DEVIi), transport department officials said on Thursday. Initially, 255 nine-metre-long buses will be pressed into service, officials said. Previously called the mohalla bus service by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, they said the service would improve last-mile connectivity in the Capital.
