3 1/1 An eight-year-old RNLI supporter has raised more than £3,000 for the charity by using the power of his feet. Johnathon Jarvis completed a 60-mile walk from Happisburgh to Hunstanton to raise money for the charity that saves lives at sea. He set off on Thursday, May 28, and completed the walk on Sunday, June 1. The youngster was accompanied by his parents Lee and Kayleigh, as well as family and supporters.

4 1/1 An Isleham mumĀ has helped shape a new research strategy in memory of her young son. Lisa Radcliffe lost her four-year-old son George to rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, just 17 months after his diagnosis in May 2022. George, described by his mother as "a bucket of joy," started school in September 2023 but tragically died just a month later, on October 14.

The challenging event was in aid of the Magpas Air Ambulance and the life-savers who came to his aid after a severe accident in September 2022. Scott was left with a fractured spine, multiple leg and ankle breaks, a triple shoulder fracture, and a head injury after a ladder collapse. Despite his injuries, he managed to drag himself inside to call for help. The Magpas Air Ambulance team, consisting of Dr Jon Townsend and critical care paramedic Shaunna Truskinger, flew to Scott's rescue.

The heritage railway in Peterborough launched an appeal last year to raise £300,000. This was to try and keep the railway running in the face of "stark financial challenges" due to the combination of Covid-19 and rising operating costs. It has now been revealed that almost £120,000 has been raised so far from grants and donations. However, there is still a way to go to hit the target.
