Continuing with footwear, new and upcoming trail running shoes caught my attention at OMA. Scarpa recently updated their Spin Ultra from the 2.0 to include more cushion and updates to the upper. The Spin Ultra 2.0 has held the spot of Best Trail Running Shoes for Traction in our Best Women’s Trail Running Shoes guide. I’m stoked to test these and see how they compare to the older model.

A few nights ago, I was shuffling through my usual routine, letting my old hound dog out before bed. I stepped out my front door and let the dog through, and as I reached down to clasp his leash before opening the gate on our porch something very large caught my attention. I looked over my shoulder and saw three moose — a large cow and two yearlings — bedding down in the grass just outside my fence.

The gonzo Breck Epic, a six-day, 220-mile stage mountain bike race through the mountains of Summit County, attracts some 500 riders from across the globe each summer. They gain roughly 40,000 feet of elevation over the course of the race, which is ridden almost entirely on scenic and technical backcountry singletrack, beginning and ending each stage in downtown Breckenridge.
