Verdicts are in for three defendants in the Hertel and Brown fraud trial. The jury acquitted two of the three defendants, Abigayle J. Fachetti and Marissa S. Hull, of health care fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Julie A. Johnson was also acquitted of the conspiracy count but was convicted of health care fraud. That’s according to GoErie.

Multiple fire departments responded to a massive blaze Wednesday night in Waterford Township that gutted a barn and killed a family pet. Firefighters were up against massive flames when they arrived on the scene around 6:30 p.m.Thick black smoke and bright orange flames were shooting out of the front and back of the barn in the 500 block of Old State Road. The fast-moving fire spread to a connected house and a nearby field.

On Friday, January 17, 21-year-old Canyon McGarvey of Erie was shot in the head outside a vehicle — He was pronounced dead the following Sunday.
