What started as an idea on a post-it note turned into a groundbreaking ceremony for the new $42 million Family Justice Center funded by MAPS 4.   A crowd gathered in Midtown on Friday morning to celebrate its new location. Many guest speakers were also at the ceremony, including Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt. Oklahoma Board of Dentistry Executive Director Susan Rogers provides a list of things parents should know when taking their children to the dentist.  Make sure the child has gone through a basic health exam with the pediatrician. This is a good way to determine if there are any underlying issues that could potentially conflict with the anesthesia.  Make sure the child does not have any allergic reactions.   Sometimes, underlying issues do not manifest themselves until anesthesia is administered.

Many residents in Lexington are having to resort to drastic measures after heavy rains made its way into some of their homes.  Lexington resident Karleen Shaw said she had a half of an inch of water on her porch with water seeping into her home.  “I've got everything drying out now but I've got fans and all of that going,” said Shaw who also said she has pictures on her bed in order to save them from damage.

A section of County Road 1322 in Blanchard has developed a hole large enough to fit a military tanker, residents say. Blanchard resident Ryen Menefee told News 9 that the hole appeared small Wednesday night and didn’t raise much concern. She said that by Thursday morning, it had grown significantly. “I woke up to a phone call from my mom saying not to come home because of how much it had grown overnight,” Menefee said.

The tornado came through the town of Spaulding shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday night leaving a few homes with nothing but a shell.  One neighbor helping clean up the aftermath on Sunday said when the tornado hit, she immediately took shelter. It also claimed the life of 84-year-old Jerry Davis and destroyed the home of his daughter who lived down the road.  “Well, the fatality here, there was a storm shelter, He just didn't go to it.
