SHERIDAN — Sheridan City Council approved second reading of a rezone of the Wyoming Downs property on Feb. 3, despite ongoing concerns from the property’s neighbor Legacy Pregnancy Center. The city council first heard from Legacy in a Jan. 8 letter. In the letter, the organization’s governing board expressed concern the rezone could negatively impact the safety of the center’s clientele.

SHERIDAN — The city of Sheridan is set to consider approval of a master plan for Sheridan Fire-Rescue next week. In 2024, the city noted SFR did not have a master plan in place and contracted with Emergency Services Consulting International, which spent over a year developing the plan, Sheridan Fire-Rescue chief Gary Harnish said during a city council study session Monday.

SHERIDAN — The low bid for the city of Sheridan’s northeast transmission main project came in significantly under the engineer’s estimate of $2.7 million. Next week, the Sheridan City Council will vote whether to accept the low bid of $1.83 million from Sheridan-based Excel Wyoming. SHERIDAN — The city of Sheridan is working to move two Coffeen Avenue properties used for gambling to the M-1 industrial zoning district and is also addressing the “loophole” that allowed the properties to operate under incorrect zoning, city administrator Stuart McRae said. During the city council’s Jan. 13 study session, county planner Kelly Schroeder discussed the impending rezone of Wyoming Downs, which occupies the former Ole’s Pizza building located at 927 Coffeen Avenue.
