Mads Pedersen and Lidl-Trek completed a perfect tactic plan on the road to Valona, with the Dane winning the sprint and retaking the maglia rosa after his teammates controlled the attacks and led the chase all day on the final stage in Albania. Pedersen started his sprint early, Corbin Strong (Israel-Premier Tech) was on his wheel and came up alongside him but could not match the Dane's finishing speed. Orluis Aular (Movistar) was again in the thick of the sprint, taking third.

Remco Evenepoel has kicked off his preparation for the 2025 Tour de France, with a first ride on home roads. Between now and Saturday July 5, when the Tour begins in Lille, in northern France, Evenepoel will gradually increase his training load, attend a three-week altitude train camp and race the Criterium du Dauphine (June 8-15) and the Belgian national championships on June 27 and 29.

Vittoria Bussi has again broken the women's UCI Hour Record, covering a distance of 50.455 kilometres on the Velodromo Bicentenario in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Bussi, both a renowned mathematician and pro rider, covered the cost of her record attempt via a well-sporting crowd funding campaign. She first broke the women’s UCI Hour Record in 2018, setting a new record of 48,007km. That was broken by Joscelin Lowden in 2021 and then by Ellen van Dijk in 2023, who covered 49.254 km.

According to the usually well-informed Matt Lawton in , the French multi-national energy and oil company could become a title sponsor of the Ineos team and so boost their budget significantly.
