Beautifully packaged in a hexagon styled bottle. This is a Rosé from Provence made from Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Vermentino. Deep salmon pink in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with guava, watermelon, minerality and slight strawberries. Medium bodied. Lovely texture. Great balance. On the palate, the Guava and Watermelon come thru with a touch of minerality. Long finish. This is very nice on its own but better with food. It will stand up to a large range of foods.

Wow, another shot a history. This is a blend of 85% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc, and 3% Muscadelle. It is brown in color, sort of a deep iced tea color and maybe a touch lighter on the outer edge of the glass. The nose is very nice with honey, slight ginger, orange peel, dusty attic, and a slight burnt caramel note. Medium bodied. Viscous texture. Good acidity. On the palate, this is sweet and close to cloying.

This bottle was oxidized. Deep golden in color. A fair amount of oak showing but no fruit. A shame as there is often great value in the under $30 world of Bordeaux. It is a blend of 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The cork looked fine but something went wrong somewhere. The current vintage is 2023, but even at age six years from vintage, it seems it should still be drinking well. Oh well.

This was not a proper bottle. It had a lot of froth and bubbles and there should not have been any. My pour was one of the first and no off flavors were detected that might have suggested refermentation in the bottle, but the amount of bubbles was for too much to just be trapped CO2. Others who sampled from farther into the bottle noted off flavors and lots of "crud" in the bottle. Not sure how prevalent this will be, but buyer beware.

This is a Syrah from the northern Rhone Valley in France. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose is serious with black raspberries, black olives, chocolate and slight violets. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Nicce backbone of acidity. On the palate, boysenberries with some char and black pepper. Good finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. It is drinking well now but will improve. Hold for five years and drink for ten to fifteen after that.

Crozes Hermitage wines can be some of the best value in red wine. They are Syrah based wines that are ageable and delicious. In this case, the wine is 100% Syrah from the Northern Rhone. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with black raspberries, slight black olives, a bit of red currants and a lovely violet note. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. Great energy and balance. On the palate, this is concentrated yet drinks easily.

2001 Château Rieussec, France, Bordeaux, Sauternes, Wine Review Current Price: Wow, this is stunning. What a great vintage. Medium gold in color with slight darker hues, clear and bright. The nose is big with apricots, honey, orange peel and crème brulée. Full bodied. Viscous texture. Excellent acidity. Great energy and balance. On the palate, this is deep and complex. Layers of fruits, dried fruits and other tastes. Apricots, honey, oranges and caramel. Long finish.

This is a Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is mild with yellow grapefruit and a bit of lemon. Good acidity. Light bodied. On the palate, this has lemon-lime and some grapefruits. It drinks easy. Moderate finish. This drinks nicely on its own and will work with lighter foods. A nice lunch wine with a tune salad.
