The Social Circle Board of Education announced the sole finalist for the superintendent job at a special called meeting Tuesday. The board voted 7-0 to name Matthew Remillard as the sole finalist for superintendent of Social Circle City Schools after more than a week of closed sessions interview prospective candidates for the position. Remillard, if approved next month for the role, would replace Carrie Booher, who was suddenly let go as superintendent without explanation earlier this year.

On May 9 and 10, the Loganville High School track and field program saw some of its athletes compete in the Georgia High School Association Class 5A state championship meet. The team had multiple students find success and reach the podium, with the boys 4x800 relay team leading the way. “Our 3-seeded Boys 4x800m relay team had a stellar season, breaking their own school record — multiple times,” Kelli Mann, assistant coach for the LHS track team, said.
