Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua distanced himself from the ongoing wrangles between Governor Wavinya Ndeti and County Speaker Anne Kiusya on the latter’s planned impeachment by a section of MCAs.Speaking during a show on a Kamba vernacular radio station, Mutua revealed that he had earlier held a phone conversation with Governor Ndeti where the governor asked for his support for the speaker to be impeached, only for him to reject such a proposal.

It is eight years now since locals around Thwake Dam in Makueni were relocated after the state acquired some of their lands to allow for the construction of the dam. About 1,792 people were moved to pave the way for the project around 2021; those around exuded confidence that it would bring blessings. But according to residents, the project seems to have affected some key facilities, including Unyee Primary School.

The body of Campbell Scott, 58, a British businessman who went missing on February 17, during a workshop in a Nairobi hotel was on Monday morning positively identified at the Makueni County referral hospital Morgue. On Saturday around 10am at Makongo forest, along Wote-Machakos road, boys who were grazing at sections near the road bumped into a decomposing body which had been badly mutilated.

On Saturday, the family of Martin Mugambi protested at the Makindu sub-county hospital morgue after learning that a scheduled post-mortem would not happen.
