FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - The province's wildfire authority has released its wildfire risk mapping, revealing Fort St. John is on the second lowest level for risk of wildfires. The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says the Fort St. John area is at shaded as green or at 'low danger' for risk of new wildfires, according to the authority's coloured map.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - All evacuation alerts concerning the Pocket Knife Creek wildfire have been cancelled. In a statement, the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) says the alerts came to an end as of 1 p.m. on Monday, June 16th. The district acknowledges the alerts "may be reissued" if there are changes to the current wildfire situation. However, the PRRD says the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) continues to have an area restriction surrounding the Pocket Knife Creek wildfire.

JOHN, B.C. - The GoFundMe for a seven-year-old girl with Lyme disease exceeded its $20,000 goal for her treatment by nearly $2,000. Ashley Klassen, an Alberta mother, told Energeticcity.ca that her daughter Bentley has had her childhood stolen after being diagnosed with Lyme disease in March this year. Lyme disease is a bacterial illness typically spread by ticks.
