Ronald Jones, of Hillcrest in Summerhill Road, Gwersyllt, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The 58-year-old had previously admitted one offence of drink-driving.

Wrexham Magistrates Court (Image: Staff) A MAN found himself in the dock after carrying a 'samurai sword' in public. Gokhan Eles, of Wrexham Road in Mold, was produced in custody at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The 31-year-old had been convicted at a previous hearing of possessing a bladed/pointed article in a public place, as well as failing to surrender to court custody.

Kieran Murphy, of First Avenue in Gwersyllt, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The 30-year-old admitted that on January 25 this year at Egerton Street in Wrexham, he drove a motor vehicle when the proportion of cannabis in his blood exceeded the specified limit.

HMP Berwyn (Image: Staff) A HMP Berwyn inmate caught using an illicit mobile phone in his cell was speaking to his ill mother, a court heard. Mohammed Fazal, of Lower Roch Road, Rochdale, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday. The 38-year-old had been convicted at a previous hearing of one offence of possessing a phone without authorisation within a prison.

A police jacket (Image: Archive) POLICE and ambulance teams were called out to a Wrexham village over the weekend due to concerns for the safety of a man near a river. The Leader received reports on Saturday of a large emergency service presence in Rossett, including multiple police cars and ambulance vehicles. North Wales Police confirmed on Tuesday morning what that presence related to.
