A man has been injured after a suspected gas explosion at a house in Preston. Windows were blown out of the end-terrace property in Gillett Street following the blast at about 22:20 GMT on Saturday. The man was treated in hospital for burns and has since been discharged. Some neighbouring houses were evacuated. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they received "several reports" that a dog was "dangerously out of control" and attacking people on Gladstone Road, Eccles, at about 21:00 BST on Friday. The force said the dog was "destroyed at the scene" by armed officers after police and members of the public were unable to "regain control" of it.
