    Canada, today is the big day. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 are finally going live. Starting today, you can pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 from major retailers for $629.99 ahead of its June 5th launch. In most cases, pre-orders will open at 12 PM ET/9 AM ET or in-store at opening time (local). However, there are some exceptions. As announced last week, Nintendo is finally opening up pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday.

    Meta has suddenly launched its new Instagram ‘Edits’ app on the App Store and Google Play. In a bid to compete with TikTok’s CapCut editing software, Edits allows users to more easily edit videos and then share them on Instagram. Earlier this year, CapCut was removed from the App Store in the US as threats of ByteDance’s software being banned began to seep in. As a means to potentially replace CapCut, Meta announced that it was working on a mobile video editing app.

    This month, Ubisoft launched Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on iOS and Android. Porting over the award-winning metroidvania game, I was eager to test it out and see how one of my favourite games from 2024 would fare on iPhone 16. I really set out to see how Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown handled on a portable smartphone, comparing it to the console experience after putting in over 40 hours the year prior. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was released in early 2024 on January 18th.

    Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is now available to play through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The 2004 Game Boy Advance title is the latest to be added to the subscription service. As announced by Nintendo this week on X (formerly Twitter), Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online library. The game originally launched in Japan in 2004 and then later came to North America and Europe in 2005.

    Nintendo has reunited with actor Paul Rudd to bring us a big hit of nostalgia in a new Nintendo Switch 2 ad. In a follow-up to its 1991 Super Nintendo Entertainment System ad, Rudd shows off the upcoming Nintendo hardware. This weekend, Nintendo and Rudd surprised the internet with the debut of an ad titled ‘Now You’re Playing Together’. Rudd appears in the ad wearing the same outfit he wore back in 1991 in the original.
