Everyone wants to come to Texas. While this recent set of data from the federal government doesn't say where these new residents to various Texas cities are coming, it does say that they are growing rapidly. In fact, Texas has nine out of 11 of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., according to Census Bureau population change estimates from July 2022 to July 2023.

The federal minimum has remained $7.25 for 15 years as the cost of living continues to rise, a new report says, and Texas is among the states in the nation where over a quarter of its workers are making low wages. Recent data from Oxfam America says that 29.9%, or 4,528,976 workers in Texas, make less than $17 per hour. Oxfam says that $17 an hour would benefit most workers still making at or just little above the federal minimum wage.

It wasn't long ago that we saw an H-E-B store open in North Texas and now the San Antonio grocery chain is ready to open another store in the Dallas-area. H-E-B fanatics in North Texas (yes, they exist) will be excited to know that the grocer plans to open its second store in Frisco on August, according to an update from H-E-B.

New court documents filed recently accuse a former cop with the New York Police Department (NYPD) of buying a second home in Texas to allegedly pursue and exploit a minor. Court documents filed on July 19 in New York federal court say the former officer, Christopher Terranova, allegedly bought a second home in Texas not far from the minor and engaged in sex acts with him.
