By Stewart Chisham - News Editor A collision between two vehicles west of Spirit Lake sent two individuals to the hospital with minor injuries at approximately 3:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21,According to reports from the Iowa State Patrol, Andrew Araguz, age 28, of Estherville was heading east toward Spirit Lake when some items had fallen from his truck.
Spirit Lake All-School Reunion celebrates 50 years

By Stewart Chisham - News Editor The Spirit Lake High School All-School Reunion had its 50th celebration Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds' Expo Center. All Spirit Lake alumni were invited to come, and a grand total of 171 people showing up for the lunch line. It was also the 50th anniversary of the graduation of Spirit Lake High School Class of 1974. The class was invited to come and were the first up in line for food this year. The oldest person at the ceremony graduated in 1942.
One dead, one injured in Lake Park car accident

By Stewart Chisham - News Editor A fatal car accident just outside of Lake Park resulted in the death of one teenager and the severe injury of another. On county road M27, a 2019 Kia Stinger was heading north when the driver, 18-year-old Teagan Vos of Sheldon, failed to navigate a curve just south of Highway 9. Vos lost control of the vehicle as it flipped over the road and landed in the ditch opposite.

Worthington man charged with drug possession, fleeing officers

Mar. 13—WORTHINGTON — A 50-year-old Worthington man is charged with felony drug possession and one misdemeanor count of fleeing from a police officer following a Feb. 20 incident. According to the law enforcement report, at approximately 4:56 p.m., Worthington Police officers were on patrol when they noticed a man leaving the residence of an individual who has a warrant for their arrest.

Mar. 13—WORTHINGTON — Three individuals were recently sentenced in cases previously covered by The Globe. * Olvin Ramirez Rosa, 22, was convicted March 5 ofone felony count burglaryin the second degree, and was dismissed on misdemeanor charges of domestic assault. For the burglary conviction, Rosa was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 61 days served, and fined $1,160. Rosa is additionally subject to two years of supervised probation. * Sem Lugo, 34, was convicted Feb.
