    WORTHINGTON — There have been a string of scam reports made in Worthington, with nearly 20 reports filed with the Worthington Police Department in just the last two months, according to Worthington Police Officer Chris Hillesheim. Some who have answered these calls have lost as much as $60,000. Hillesheim said many scammers have evolved their approach in recent years. “They're getting a little more sophisticated and they're pretty good at adapting,” Hillesheim said.

    WORTHINGTON — Sanford Worthington’s ambulance crew has grown markedly quieter after the passing of paramedic James Limmer. Limmer, 28, was with his family in Appleton, Maine, on vacation when he died in a motorcycle crash on June 9. Limmer had been with Sanford Worthington for over eight years, joining right after he turned 18. Sanford Worthington Ambulance Manager Dave McNab said Limmer’s death is still on the minds of him and the rest of the ambulance crew.

    WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved David Bosma’s proposal to purchase the lot at 1000 Sherwood Street and the submission of a conditional use permit for the property during its meeting Friday at Worthington City Hall. The site was formerly owned by Cemstone Concrete Materials, LLC., and the Worthington EDA acquired the property from Cemstone in a land swap deal.

    WORTHINGTON — Rock and Nobles counties have a new Minnesota Department of Natural Resources officer. However, unlike most of her colleagues, she has four legs. Cora, a black lab, was partnered with Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer Dustin Roemeling, who serves the two counties, last December. She is trained to detect zebra mussels, game meat (namely venison and game birds), firearms, ammunition and missing people.
