By Sue LoughlinThe Tribune-StarTERRE HAUTE, Ind. — One juvenile died and another suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident Tuesday evening in Terre Haute involving an ambulance and two youths on an electric bike. The second youth was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital with life-threatening injuries, city police said in a news release. Neither the Terre Haute Police Department nor the Vigo County Coroner’s Office had released the identities of those involved as of Wednesday afternoon.

The 13 individuals who spoke at a field hearing Thursday expressed strong support for Duke Energy’s proposed $3.3 billion investment in construction of a new, natural gas-fired power plant at the existing Cayuga Generating Station. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission conducted the field hearing at Ivy Tech Community College. No one spoke against the project, although one speaker said his first preference would be to extend the life of the current, coal-fired generating plant.
