Gold Coast man Geoff Rayner has been found safe by police after he went missing more than one week ago. Mr Rayner, 53, had last been seen on Allandale Entrance in Mermaid Waters about 8am on May 8. It was revealed on Wednesday that he had been found alive. “The 53-year-old man missing from Mermaid Waters since May 8 has been located safe and well,” a Queensland police spokesperson said.

The first of the five planes once in Bonza’s fleet has made its way overseas following the company’s failure to renegotiate its forced grounding. The Boeing 737, known lovingly as “Bruce”, departed for Honolulu on Thursday morning under the flight tag of Canada’s budget airline Flair, the aircraft’s co-owner. It left from Sunshine Coast airport shortly after 9am.

Porsche has issued an urgent recall for some of its luxury electric car offering over battery issues. Porsche issued the recall on Taycan models Y1A, Y1B and Y1C for the year range 2019-2023, citing a risk of vehicle fire. The defect is suspected to affect 19 vehicles in Australia, with a list of vehicle identification numbers available on vehiclerecalls.gov.au.

Budget airline Bonza has again failed to get off the ground, as negotiations with aircraft lenders have stalled. In a statement, Bonza announced all flights from May 8 to 14 would be cancelled and staff would remain stood down in the period. This comes after Bonza administrators Hall Chadwick announced on Friday that it had stood down staff and cancelled flights up until Tuesday following the grounding of its aircraft.

A piece of Aussie true crime history has been rekindled after the Larrimah home of Paddy Moriarty made it to auction six years after his disappearance. Mr Moriarty’s Northern Territory home would usually be a tough sell; the abandoned lot has become overgrown and is more than 158km away from the nearest major town of Katherine. At the time of Mr Moriarty’s disappearance, the population of Larrimah sat at 12. The ABC now estimates it to be closer to seven.
