The Mira Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police have seized a banned consignment of “suspected” beef (cow meat) worth around Rs.3.84 lakh by intercepting a tempo on the highway in Kashimira late on Monday night. The action followed in response to a tip-off provided by cow vigilante-Rupesh Dubey and his colleagues that a tempo carrying cow meat was on its way to Malwani area in Malad.

Mira-Bhayandar: In a much-needed respite for citizens, an advanced computed tomography (CT) scan machine was unveiled at the state run-Bharat Ratna Late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Civil Hospital in Bhayandar (west) on Monday. The CT scan machine was inaugurated by local legislator- Narendra Mehta in the presence of civil surgeon- Dr. Zafar Tadvi and project manager (Krsnaa Diagnostics)-Sandesh Ballal.

After issuing notices (in January this year) warning strict action against housing societies, commercial and educational complexes who are found pressing humans to conduct the undignified and dangerous labour work, MBMC’s own contractors who have been hired to carry-out the pre-monsoon desilting operations are brazenly violating the rules.
