    STATEWIDE -- There’s a new warning for Maine parents tonight. The Maine information and Analysis Center and the FBI say there is an increase in violent online networks that are actively targeting minors and vulnerable adults. They say the networks operate on widely used platforms like social media, gaming apps and messaging apps. According to authorities, they exploit victims, many of them between the ages of 9 and 17 through manipulation, threats and extortion.

    BANGOR -- A drug investigation in Bangor has left three people behind bars. Bangor Police Sgt. Jason McAmbley says officers searched a residence on Birch Street as part of the investigation. Nikolas Raines,33,  51- year-old Angelique Ventimiglia and 28-year old Hailey Sawyer- all of Bangor- were taken into custody. A loaded handgun, methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine base and a large sum of cash believed to be the proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs were seized.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Protecting Maine's lobster industry came up at a hearing to review the Fiscal Year 2026 budget in Washington. Senator Susan Collins chairs the Appropriations Committee. She questioned the Secretary of Commerce about regulations placed on Maine's lobster industry . She said proposed regulations under the Biden Administration posed a threat to the very existence of the lobster fishery and cited a court ruling that called them arbitrary and capricious.

    STATEWIDE -- Northern Light Health contract talks with health insurance giant Anthem have stalled. That's according to a statement sent out by Northern Light Health . The current contract is set to expire September 30th. The statement says once expired, the healthcare system would move out of network for those with Anthem plans.

    AUGUSTA -- A bill that would that would create a late start for high schools has been advanced by the senate. LD 396 would create a pilot program to provide funding to Maine schools interested in pursuing a starting time at or after 8:30 as they explore this option. Senate President Mattie Daughtry sponsored the bill. "This is not just about convenience, it's about the health, safety, and academic success of Maine's students.
