A body has been found. (Image: Newsquest) POLICE have confirmed that a body has been recovered during searches for missing 16-year-old Athrun. Multi-agency searches resumed this evening in the West Shore area of Llandudno after sighting of a body on Tuesday evening. Searches conducted by the police underwater search team, NPAS and coastguard resulted in a body being recovered today at 6.20pm.

MULTI-agency searches will resume this evening (Wednesday, May 14) following the potential sighting of a body in the sea near Llandudno. The sighting came shortly after 7pm on Tuesday (May 13) during air searches for 16-year-old Athrun. The teenager, described as vulnerable by police, has been missing since Saturday May 10. Members of the coastguard and underwater search team carried out searches in the water during the night and early this morning, but sadly, a body has not been located.

Emergency services launched following a potential sighting of a body in the sea near Llandudno shortly after 7pm. The National Police Air Service spent nearly three hours investigating [before returning back to its base] and circling areas off West Shore and the Great Orme. The helicopter was supported by Llandudno Lifeboat, who launched shortly after 8.30pm, as well as the coastguard. The sighting came during air searches for the teenager who has been missing since Saturday May 10.
