The third annual family-friendly event allows families to bring out the lawn chairs and soak up tunes while enjoying music, food, and drinks. Music in the Gardens is scheduled for 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the Orangerie Garden. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children and $16 for members. Vanessa Caston LaFleur (D-Baton Rouge) introduced The Promise Lab program in February 2024. Operating under her Impact 101 platform, the program gives District 101 students in 9th and 10th grades a chance to learn different skills for success in academics and the workforce.

Several companies will be doing on-the-spot job interviews. A turnout of about 700 to 1,000 people is expected for the Wednesday, April 30 job fair.
