The president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo), has described the federal government’s decision to toll some highways as a welcome development. Akinsanya said it would enhance the maintenance of the roads and make them last longer. According to Akinsanya, tolling of highways is not synonymous with Nigerian alone, stating that highway tolling is a norm in some advanced countries he has visited.

The commencement of construction work on Ibadan Street in Ilasamaja area of Isolo Local Council Development Area has been welcomed with excitement by residents and road users in the community. Preliminary work began when the contractor – JIDSMA Nigeria Limited contracted by the council authority under the leadership of Olasoju Adebayo to put the road in desirable and motorable state like the adjoining Baale Street moved to site.

Distributes food items to 250As part of activities marking his 60th birthday, the former commissioner with the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Alhaji Musibau Oyefeso, has floated a foundation to sponsor the education of the out-of-school children. Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Abubakar, and Baba Adinni of Lagos Central Mosque/Chair of Executive of Juma’atul Muslim Council of Lagos, Sikiru Alabi-MacFoy, have mourned Sheikh Muhydeen Bello, renowned Islamic preacher and Kano State Branch Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society.
