AbstractCadmium (Cd), a typical marine pollutant with a long half-life, is effectively monitored using bivalves as indicator organisms. Cd enters bivalves through their filter-feeding behavior. Research on Cd accumulation capacity in different bivalve tissues and their toxicological effects is of significant interest. However, recent research on the effects of Cd in bivalves has not been systematically summarized.
