A 40-year-old woman who was last seen on Thursday, May 29, in Merrickville has been located safe, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Monday, June 2. Earlier in the day, OPP officers were visible in the area of Armstrong Road. “We do have officers looking around out that area — out in the woods — because she is missing and we do not know where she is,” Bill Dickson, media relations co-ordinator for OPP East Region told Inside Ottawa Valley.

Running from Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, the event, aims to reduce the quantity of items that ultimately find their way into landfills. Motion carried!Upon the raising of seven hands May 20, Carleton Place council awarded the tender for the largest capital project in the town’s history — the expansion of the water and wastewater treatment plants — to ASCO Construction in the amount of $123,505,090. The project’s all-in cost of $145,868,367 includes net HST, contract administration and inspection, permitting and utility allowances and a contingency of $10 million to address any change orders due to unforeseen conditions.
