Cornwall Police Service has been assigned the responsibility of investigating the encounter involving two Smiths Falls police officers and a woman who was in their custody on June 7. “We will be unable to comment further until the conclusion of the investigation,” he added. SFPS Deputy Chief Chris Kettyle has been named the liaison officer for the inquiry.

Two Smiths Falls police officers have been placed on administrative duties amid an internal investigation into an occurrence with a woman in their custody on Saturday, June 7, the Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS) reported. A portion of the incident was recorded by a witness and posted anonymously on social media. In the video, one officer appears to pull the handcuffed woman from the back seat of the police cruiser by one leg, subsequently pinning her to the ground.
