For people who don’t know much about it, can you tell me a bit about African contemporary writing in general? I think that African writing has mostly been postcolonial. Perhaps it started with Chinua Achebe, who was writing in reaction to aspects of colonialism. That has been quite popular in African writing. Now, at this stage, African writing is moving away from that colonial theme.
