    LIMESTONE COUNTY, Texas (KXXV) — Limestone County Sheriff Murray Agnew tells 25 News' Bobby Poitevint they are investigating a "questionable death" after a woman's body was found in Lake Mexia. Sheriff Agnew said dispatch received the call after the body was spotted around 4 p.m. on Monday, near FM 3437. The sheriff said the woman's body has been sent for an autopsy and authorities are still working to notify the family and next of kin.

    TEMPLE, Texas (KXXV) — The Temple Police Department and SWAT Team conducted a felony warrant service for a parole violation that escalated to a seven hour active scene Saturday. Around 2:53 p.m., officers went to the 200 block of S 25th Street for 44-year-old Matthew MacMann for a felony warrant service for parole violation for a felony assault offense. Upon arrival, officers tried to contact the individual, however MacMann and two others inside the home refused to copperate.

    UPDATED STORY: Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales reported Tuesday morning, at 5:40 a.m., that the Harris County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, along with other HCSO units and the U.S. Marshal's Violent Offender Task Force, successfully apprehended escapee Scott Evan Shepple at the Green Chase Inn, located at 9797 North Freeway. The operation was carried out without incident, and all officers involved are safe.

    GRIMES COUNTY, Texas (KRHD) — A Grimes County Jail inmate has escaped after being transferred to a behavioral hospital in Houston. The Grimes County Sheriff's Office said Scott Evan Shepple was last seen at the Cypress Creek Behavioral Hospital in Houston around 8:45 a.m. on Monday. Shepple was transferred to the hospital from the Grimes County Jail, where he's been in custody since Dec. 4, 2024, for several charges, including sexual assault, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer.
