GRB 200415A, a short and very bright pulse of γ-rays, has been claimed to be an extragalactic magnetar giant flare (MGF) in the galaxy NGC 253. However, as the redshift of the transient was not measured, it is possible that the measured location of the transient on the celestial sphere and the location of the local galaxy merely coincided.

Abstract:Knee pain is a common reason for medical consultations. A thorough history and clinical examination often provide sufficient information to narrow down the diagnosis before advanced imaging is required. Incorporating classical orthopedic differential diagnoses is particularly useful in this process. Elderly individuals, especially women over 65, are disproportionately affected.

Abstract:In recent years, patient specific alignment (PSA) philosophies have emerged as a promising approach to enhance patient satisfaction following knee replacement. PSA requires a detailed preoperative 3D analysis of the leg geometry as well as precise and accurate intraoperative implementation of the patient-specific planning. Technical support, such as navigation-based or robot-assisted systems, is essential for the success of this complex challenge.

In an article published in Brain Communications, Monfrini et al.1 have proclaimed a specific DNA methylation profile at 175 CpG sites, which they derived from 8 individuals with heterozygous KMT2B missense variants and adult-onset dystonia or non-dystonic phenotypes. Since these individuals had probability scores close to 0 (≤0.016) when analysed by the conventional KMT2B episignature, such a disjunct methylation profile in them would not only be relevant for nosology and diagnostics.

Problem: Cyclists riding next to parked vehicles are at risk of crashes with opening vehicle doors. A central position, out of this dooring zone, decreases such a risk but comes with other problems like potentially smaller passing distances kept by overtaking motorists or having to cross tram rails. Method: Factors influencing cyclists’ choice of position were investigated by showing a total of 3,444 German cyclists different traffic situations in two online surveys.
