It can be used as a separation technique, because the process results in the separation of the mother liquor and the solid phase. If the mother liquor and the solid phase have different compositions it can also be used as a purification technique. In such cases the mother liquor must contain impurities.

The present study was conducted on two fattening farms in Southern Germany (farm A and farm B) with a known history of L. intracellularis infection. Additionally, the herd attending veterinarian of farm B reported about a recent clinical outbreak of B. hyodysenteriae before the start of the study. In both farms the pigs were kept in accordance with the guidelines of the German Animal Welfare Ordinance [12].

AbstractWe discuss the challenges that the standard (Humean and non-Humean) accounts of laws face within the framework of quantum gravity where space and time may not be fundamental. This paper identifies core (meta)physical features that cut across a number of quantum gravity approaches and formalisms and that provide seeds for articulating updated conceptions that could account for QG laws not involving any spatio-temporal notions.

An increase in global infertility has coincided with the accumulation of microplastics (MPs) in the environment. This trend is particularly troubling because only 10% of male infertility cases can be attributed to identifiable causes, leaving a knowledge gap in our understanding of their underlying factors. To bridge this, it is important to explore the connection between the accumulation of MPs and the observed decline in male fertility.

AbstractAn earlier observational study described selected patients with acute neck pain syndrome, who experienced short bursts of cervical vertigo elicited by rapid head movements. The current study on a larger cohort of 20 patients with chronic or frequently recurring neck pain syndrome and age-matched controls focused on two major questions: (1) Can head movements in subjects with exacerbations of neck pain and restrictions of neck mobility also elicit bursts of vertigo?

To do so, pattern-forming systems can be sensitive to the cell geometry by means of coupling the protein dynamics on the cell membrane to dynamics in the cytosol.
