KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - For those of you who may not know, there is a Tennessee Volunteers-themed sports bar in Tokyo, Japan, and during a recent trip to the country, WVLT’s Ted Hall stopped by and got a slice of Tennessee in Tokyo. Despite Tokyo being the biggest city in the world with 37 million people, there are quiet streets downtown, which is where the Good Ole Bar is located. The bar’s only employee is Yoshitoshi Momoki, who is the bar’s owner, bartender and entertainer.

Anne Bogen, chief resource development officer at Holy Angels, spoke at a Belmont Rotary Club meeting about a major Children's Campus Expansion now underway. Belmont Rotarian Mike Giang, who is chief financial officer at Holy Angels, also participated in the presentation. Almost 70 years ago, the Sisters of Mercy took in an infant named Maria Morrow who had intellectual and developmental disabilities, and Holy Angels was born.

Combating domestic violence has been Bea Cote's life for 25 years. She works in five counties in the Charlotte region, and she told Belmont Rotarians recently that she "feels most welcomed and best heard in Gaston County."Unfortunately, Gaston County is also where she is most needed, because she has more domestic abuser clients here than in either of her other counties, which include Mecklenburg, Cleveland, Lincoln and Union.
