Survival horror dungeon crawler Labyrinth of the Demon King is neck-and-neck with Avowed and Oblivion Remastered as my personal game of the year so far, which I absolutely did not expect when I loaded it up on my Steam Deck before a flight (I ended up playing it all five hours). I remember how little time it took—just a few hours, really—for me to realize that The Witcher 3 was treating quests differently than any other RPG I'd played. In so many games, particularly ones released before The Witcher 3 in 2015, there's a clear distinction in complexity and production value between the main quest and sidequests.

Last week, users on Reddit and ResetEra noticed that the GitHub library of DIY developer Lyall had been completely erased, with all links resulting in a 404 error. Lyall's work included ultra widescreen patches for major games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and more. I have reached out to Lyall and GitHub for comment and will update this story if I hear back.
