A South Pasadena man was sentenced on Feb. 26 to 26 years to life in prison for the death of his newborn son, whom prosecutors said was suffocated and died months later after being taken off life support. Christopher Richmond, 32, was convicted in October of assault on a child causing death. The jury deadlocked 11-1 in favor of guilt on a murder charge stemming from the death of his son Cash, and that charge was formally dismissed Wednesday.
