New West Hospice Society is continuing its quest to open a hospice and to provide community programming. Since 2016, the society has been working on initiatives to promote and affirm that dying, death and grief are part of life. Community members are invited to attend Compassionate City Café coffee house on Thursday, April 17 (today) and the annual RiverWalk fundraising walk on May 4.

The countdown is on until the Plant a Row – Grow a Row program begins collecting donations for folks in dire need of nutritious food. The annual program encourages community members to grow an extra row of food in their gardens and to drop it off at weekly collection events running on Sunday mornings from June to October.

Those are just some of the milestones Dr. Walter Rebeyka has achieved throughout his 46-year career as a family physician in New Westminster.
