The Record is the local newspaper of New Westminster, proudly serving the community for over 30 years. Originally launched on October 1, 1981, as an eight-page broadsheet, it was founded by a group of passionate locals who wanted to create a publication dedicated to the oldest city in western Canada. Over the years, The Record evolved into a twice-weekly tabloid in the 1980s, earning a dedicated readership with its award-winning journalism, sports coverage, insightful commentary, and advertisements. Today, it reaches more than 16,000 households and businesses in the city every Thursday. Additionally, The Record features a vibrant website that is regularly updated with the latest news, sports, and opinions.
