Alcohol use soared during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a new study finds adults in the U.S. haven’t cut back since it ended. Researchers call it an “alarming public health issue.”They compared data from National Health Interview Surveys taken before, during and after the pandemic – in 2018, 2020 and 2022. More than 24,000 people 18 and older reported on their drinking habits, and the results showed an overall increase in alcohol consumption in both 2020 and 2022.

Findings This cross-sectional study including 72 children with severe OSA found that 37.5% had vitamin D deficiency and that lower vitamin D serum levels were associated with higher obstructive AHI scores.

AbstractThis scoping review aimed to identify implementation science (IS) research in pediatric diabetes, report integration of IS theory and terminology, and offer guidance for future research. Of 23 papers identified, 19 were published since 2017 and 21 focused on type 1 diabetes. Most involved medical evidence-based practices (EBPs; n = 15), whereas fewer focused on psychosocial (n = 7) and diabetes education (n = 2).
